The Filipino Community of Seattle invites you to submit nominations for the 2020 Bayanihan Awards. The nomination period ends on August 31, 2020, and the awards will be presented to the awardees at the FCS Gala on October 24, 2020. Submit your nomination to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Bayanihan Award, established for the purpose of recognizing the outstanding work of individuals, group of individuals or organizations are as follows:
Community Leadership: Significant and enduring contribution to the empowerment of the Filipinx and Filipinx American community through leadership, training, and advocacy.
Achievement in Literature, Arts and Culture: Promotion of Filipino culture in the mainstream, in diverse settings resulting in increased understanding and awareness of Filipinx and Filipinx American heritage, values, and culture.
Volunteerism and Community Service (Frank Palisoc Award): Selfless giving of dedicated volunteer service hours out of love for our community and altruism, with no expectation of monetary compensation or its equivalent.
Achievement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM): Successful work in STEM (any field). Promotes, inspires and encourages Filipinx and Filipinx Americans to enter the world of STEM.
1. Any individual, group of individuals, or organization
2. Impeccable standing in the community as a role model for the Filipinx and Filipinx community members, especially the youth
3. Supported and promoted the work of FCS
4. Not currently a Board Member or paid staff of FCS
